Company History
Hamish Lindsay set up Hamish Lindsay Motorsport (HLM) at the beginning of the millennium. Moving into the Units 1 & 2 in August 2000. Originally we specialized in preparing Racing Cars as well as tuning, servicing and repairing performance cars & ‘Jap Imports’. We quickly realized that there was no money in preparing amateur race cars and that there was a gap in the market for a company specializing in tuning, servicing and repairing late model Volvos.

In 2004 we opened our MOT Bay. Also in 2004 we split the company and Chip Tuning Ltd / Volvo Tuning was formed with Adam Weber to take on the already considerable amount of ‘chip tuning’ and remapping business that HLM was carrying out. and a year later in 2005 we replaced our ageing Sun Road A Matic 11 Rolling Road for the latest Dynojet 224XLC Rolling Road. In 2007 with the purchase of the latest Independent Volvo Diagnostic equipment from Diagnos we can truly say that we are the UK’s premier independent Volvo Tuning and Service Centre for late model cars. With unrivalled resources.

Who are we?
HLM is a family run business with the husband and wife team of Hamish & Natalie Lindsay at the helm.

Hamish Lindsay (38) Started in the Motor trade In the summer of 1986 at Hartford Motors in Oxford. He rapidly worked his way up the ranks and by 1996 was the General Manager in overall control of a small Daihatsu dealership in Woking, Surrey. He dovetailed this while at college study first for his OND in Mechanical Engineering (specializing in Motor Vehicle) at Guildford Tech. and followed on at Kingston Poly. Studying for his HND in Mechanical and Production Engineering. Hamish achieved one of his long term goals in 2000 with the opening of HLM.

Natalie Lindsay (35) When Natalie met Hamish in the summer of 1993 she was a confirmed ‘career girl’ with a successful track record in sales. She was the youngest Branch Manger for Reed Employment in 1997. In 1998 Natalie had a slight career change and moved to IBM working on various outsourcing projects. When the ‘Twin Towers’ were destroyed in 2001 Natalie was a Project Manager at IBM. Natalie stopped working for IBM after the birth of their first child (Marcus) in 2003.

John Hewlett (45) Joined us in 2004 as our MOT tester. John has 15 years experience MOT testing, he is obviously a competent mechanic as well. John has a passion for Land Rovers, both at work and at the weekends.

Andrew Moulder (19) Started with HLM in 2004 on a ‘project nineteen’ scheme he has been with us ever since working hard with 1 day a week at North East Worcs. College. He passed out in the summer of 2007 with his NVQ level 3 in Motor Vehicle and the Huge Accolade of Apprentice of the year 2007.

Kerry Brawn (22) Joined us in 2004 after a couple of failed attempts to find a reliable MOT Tester’s Assistant from the male population of Bromsgrove. Kerry’s skills and role has grown with the company and she is a valued administrator and not just a ‘Gofer’.

Richard Markham (31) Richard came with a Radical Club sport that we prepared for the Radical Bi duro Championship in 2001 and 2002. When the Radical left Richard stayed! Richard has always been part time as he has a separate career working for ‘Image Technique’. He is a confirmed ‘Petrol Head’ that just enjoys working in and around Motorsport. Richard is a lynch pin in our ‘race’ team and works tirelessly for us at special events like Autosport International.
