First batch of
Autotech APC (Autotech Program Carrier) are
now available
The new APC is a
handheld programming device which allows you
to program your Volvo with Autotech software
by yourself! Designed and developed
exclusively for HLM / ATM by Global
Automotive Technologies, the APC brings
Autotech upgrades to everyone everywhere!
The APC does not require a laptop whilst
programming the car which means you don't
need to carry a laptop around if you want to
change the software tuning in the ECM. The
APC can store up to Five tunes inside which
can be downloaded to the APC device from any
computer connected to the internet using a
standard USB cable and special sync
software.
Although the APC device has the capacity to
store up to FIVE tunes internally,
you can have an unlimited number of tunes
made available which can be downloaded to
the APC at any time.
If you own more than one Volvo, your APC can
be used to program more than one car. You
don't need a separate APC for each car -
simply purchase the ATM tune software for
each of your other cars and download them to
the APC as required. The APC has built in
error checks to ensure you can only program
a car with the correct software.
The APC also provides basic diagnostics
functions allowing you to read and clear
DTCs, which is useful if you ever get a CEL
or engine running problems that you wish to
diagnose.
Vehicles supported: All Volvo models
1999-2010, including the new 2007+
S80/V70/XC60 Euro 4 and Euro 5 EDC17

Tester/Mechanic
Due to the departure of Andrew after 6
years working for us, we are looking for an
experience mechanic, who will either have an
MOT tester's license or is willing to train.
The role will be servicing Volvos and
other makes of car, MOT repairs and
assisting with tuning. He/she will
also be required to cover the MOT testers
role for holidays and sickness.

July 2009 Ian Evans Joins the HLM
Team.
We are delighted to announce that Ian
Evans will be joining the HLM team as a
trainee engineer/Mechanic. Ian will be
concentrating on the tuning side although
will also be assisting with the many service
and repair work we see every day. Ian
already has his level 2 but will be starting
his level 3 in September. |

23rd August 2008 HLM Hybrid -
For Volvo V70/S60 2.4 T5 MY 2005 onwards
HLM recently finished a hybrid turbo
conversion on a Volvo V70 2.4 T5 MY 2005 and
achieved with Oscalli and Diagnos what we
were unable to extract out of Rica, a
genuine 340 bhp (320 at the wheels) 440 nm
of Torque (over 400 Nm all the way from 2500
rpm to 5500 rpm) with really good/safe
fuelling i.e. Richer than lambda 1 (approx
13:1 all the way to 4500 rpm and then 11:1
there after). This was achieved with a
little as 1.2 bar of steady turbo boost
pressure up to 5000 rpm and then 1.3 there
after.
Hamish Lindsay Proprietor of HLM said "
it was like driving a 2 wheel drive nuclear
reactor! It did take a while to get the map
right but Richard of Oscalli and Chris from
Diagnos stuck at it and didn't disappear to
the coffee shop or blank phone calls or
emails when we needed the software changing
- thank you guys!"
We have finally seen the stunning results
that we always expected from our hybrid
turbo. The end result being 20 more bhp out
of an ordinary T5 than we have ever seen on
our Dynojet 224 xlc rolling road from
a Rica Engineering 'tuned' S60R! If somebody
wants to build an engine strong enough this
Turbo is happy to produce 1.6 bar of boost
so even more is definitely on the cards.

Long gone are the days that downloads
took 1-3 hours for modern Volvo's. We
have been working hard with Diagnos to
reduce the download times to between 7 and
15 minutes so that we can tune a car and
rolling road it before and after the tune in
under an hour. |

26th February 2008 HLM Tunes the
ALL NEW Volvo V70 2.5 T Via the OBD Port
This car tunes from 200 HP to 235 HP and
with an increase of 60 nm of Torque.
Again HLM Tuning is leading the UK Volvo
Tuning market in being able to tune the
latest Volvos via the OBDII port. In
conjunction with Diagnos we are now able to
offer a tune that brings the power of this
car above that of its smaller sibling the
V50 T5 and it can easily out perform the
bigger brother the V70 3.2 Geartronic
because it is producing more power and
torque lower down the rev range. This
tune is performed without invading your
Engine Control Module.

bhp and 350 Nm of torque, this tunes to a
genuine 200 bhp and 420 Nm of torque.

Chip Tuning celebrate historical lap record
success at Cadwell Park |

History was
made at Cadwell Park on Sunday as Formula
Jedi racer Nigel Reuben set the fastest ever
race lap around the 2.1-mile Lincolnshire
circuit, using a GSXR1000 engine with Power
Commander mapped by Chip Tuning Ltd, Dynojet
Power Commander Tuning Centre, using Dynojet
Tuning Link. Reigning Jedi champion Reuben
flew - literally - around Cadwell in the
fifth round of the series, setting a best
lap of 1 minute 22.225 seconds, an average
speed of 95.139mph. The previous record had
been held by Shaun Balfe, who set the
benchmark at 1m 22.5s in 2005 at the wheel
of a Radical SR8 sports racer.

Reuben, who went on to
take his third win of the season, was ecstatic to
achieve such a feat in his motorcycle-engined
single-seater.
"I
got the lead from the start and I only had one lap
to go for it because we catch the backmarkers so
quickly round Cadwell so the pressure was certainly
on," said Reuben. "I went flat around Coppice and
Charlies and it just stuck. It was a beautiful lap
and being in the history books of a track like
Cadwell Park is something very special."
The lap marked a
significant step forward in performance for the
1000cc Jedi racers as the previous Cadwell record
for the series was 1m 24.11s, nearly two seconds
slower.
